Diversity Dashboards

Spearheaded by the Office of Institutional Diversity, the OSU Diversity Dashboards are a collection of dashboards and tables that present summary information about students and employees through a diversity and equity lens. While not identical, the dashboards for students and faculty mirror each other in that they aim to provide a snapshot of similar experiences and milestones including: new students/employee demographics, retention at the institution, advancement or graduation, engagement with diversity learning opportunities and the responses to institutional surveys on inclusivity and climate. Whenever the data allowed for it, these reports were created to be disaggregated by race and gender. Data represented in these reports was provided by Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs.

Report Overview: This dashboard shows trends in faculty/staff employment and can be disaggregated by race and gender for the selected college(s) and campus(es).

Report Overview: This dashboard shows new-hire trends for tenure-track faculty. Data shown represents a fall-to-fall snapshot. Results are able to be disaggregated by college, race, and gender. Report Overview: This dashboard summarizes the retention and advancement for tenure-track faculty using a cohort model and can be disaggregated by college, race, and gender. The dashboard includes metrics that indicate if 1) tenure-track faculty were retained after three years, 2) whether they advanced to tenure within six years, or 3) were still employed as tenure-track at six years. Note: there are two pages to this report. The first page show results graphically and the second includes summary tables.

Definitions:

  • 3-Year Retention - Individual was retained (still employed on tenure-track) at the institution after three years.
  • 6-Year Status: Tenure Earned - Individual earned tenure by the sixth year; Employed - Individual was employed and still on tenure-track by the sixth years.

Report Overview: This dashboard summarizes the number of tenured/tenure-track faculty who participated in trainings and learning opportunities related to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice in the 2015-2016 academic year including: the Social Justice Education Initiative (SJEI); the Difference, Power, and Discrimination Program (DPP); the Search Advocate Program; and, Oregon State ADVANCE. This table does not disaggregate by college or campus.

Report Overview: This dashboard summarizes first-year (fall-to-fall) retention rates by cohort. Results can be disaggregated by campus, college, student type, race and gender. Note: criteria selected will match students' first (summer or fall) term attributes.

Report Overview: This dashboard shows degrees awarded and 6-year graduation rate disaggregated by campus, college, student level, race and gender. Degrees awarded represent the total count of degrees awarded by unit; Graduation Rate is based on a cohort model and shows if students who started in the college graduated from the university.

Report Overview: This dashboard summarizes student participation in diversity and global consciousness program for 2016-2017 Academic Year. Participation data was collected across all Student Affairs units and filtered to only include diversity and global consciousness programming. Participation rates calculated using Fall 2016 enrollment numbers. Results can be disaggregated by college, gender, and race.

Report Overview: This dashboard summarizes student responses to selected items from the 2015 and 2017 Student Inclusivity Survey. Results can be grouped by: OSU regulatory race, age band, sex assigned at birth, and sexual orientation (binary). Results can additionally be disaggregated by: student level (undergraduate/graduate) and year in school.
